Mission: To provide material sustenance and support to families in need in our community.
Vision: Our vision is to fight hunger one family at a time, by feeding hope with love and compassion.
Crossroads Food Pantry is housed at Crossroads Community Church, and has distributed food for over 25 years. The pantry started in a small closet and has grown to a building with walk-in refrigerators and freezers. The pantry operation, located downstairs, has/houses canned and pantry items that are shelf-stable. Though on a very small scale, we provide our clients with a shopping experience much like a market. Clients have a shopping cart and can choose what they prefer from the food on the shelves.
Although we are usually only open on Thursday & Fridays from 9am-12pm we were able to serve 139 families on Thursday and 125 on Friday. When you consider that there are typically four in a family, that means that we are food to over 1,060 people each week.
We are blessed to have 30 volunteers, who not only help shoppers, but also work behind the scenes. Some days we are so exhausted by the end of the day that we collapse with a smile on our face knowing we’ve changed so many people’s lives by providing them the sustenance and support through our work.
